Did someone have a celebration of some sort? [There's a soft clink as a bottle is nudged against one of its neighbors. Subaru speaks in a tone of slight disapproval; someone seems to be littering. A lot.] I've found empty bottles everywhere I've gone today -- even in the park.

[The audio feed switches on to nothing but silence and the quiet rustle of cloth for a moment. The silence is properly broken by a soft inhalation only a moment later, and then Subaru speaks.] It seems this book is my only option. I-- [The speaker pauses and lets out a quiet, frustrated sigh.]
I'm afraid that I can't remain here. I don't believe I'm even supposed to be here. [There's a quiet sound -- the speaker lightly tapping his finger against the journal's cover -- and suddenly more words.] My name is Subaru. I'd like to request the assistance of anyone who can hear me. I need information on how to leave this place.
[Subaru's voice becomes a touch more firm as he speaks -- not more demanding, really, but more steady.] But before that, I need to locate my brother. His name is Kamui. If anyone has seen or spoken with him... please tell me.

It seems I misunderstood this book's use.
My name is Subaru, as I said earlier. At the time of writing this I've located my brother, and I'd like to thank everyone who provided me with information about both his whereabouts and this world. You've all been a great help to me, and I would enjoy meeting each of you in person at some point. |
